The Toyota GT86 / Subaru BRZ is not equipped with a factory oil cooler.
On a number of occasions, performing engine remaps on the GT86 / BRZ and conducting road tests, we have noticed that when driving dynamically (not to be confused with aggressively), engine oil temperatures reach alarmingly high values of 120-130*C. Such temperatures significantly reduce the life of the engine and often end up with a failure of the drive unit. To prolong its trouble-free operation and reduce the risk of future failures, we have designed an oil cooler kit.
The set includes:
– oil filter adapter (additional input for external sensor)
– thermostat base (thermostat opening point is 82°C)
– lightweight oil cooler mount that also reduces vibrations
– Teflon hoses in steel braiding
